Inspired by Wordsworth - Part 3

The next poem took some time to come along. I penned it during the First Year of my Under-Graduation. A clear night sky which I happened to gaze when I took my pet for a walk happens to an inspiration for this poem (a la Wordsworth!!). Took me some time to decide on the final script though!

Black and White

The window sill lost my gaze,
To the conflict between darkness and moonlight,
The former with the lion’s share of success
In thwarting the efforts of the determined White.

Whom do I applaud
The victory of who would give me glee?
I staggered with indecision
Fell into the whirlpool of dilemma,
I decided to analyze the contenders.

White is graceful and the symbol of peace,
Enough reason to support him,
Then I would applaud,
“Defend, ‘O’ Warrior of Success,
For the Emperor of the Solar System shall rise.
His absence is just temporary
The illusion of Black’s might
Will cease by the Emperor’s ascent
So, hold on Warrior White”.

Black may be the symbol of Evil in the land of men,
Officious visitor in the corridors of minds and hearts
But he is the color of the Universe
Overshadowing the might of White and Emperor
Enough reasons to join forces with Black.

Suddenly came to me, the dawn of realization
Things appear the way we look at them
When viewed with optimism
White is graceful and symbol of peace
Black the emperor of the Universe
But when being pessimistic
White is the color of death
Black is the symbol of Evil.

Heart filled with content
I closed my eyes for some sleep
While the eternal battle outside
Will continue, forever……….
