Inspired by Wordsworth - Part 4

I was determined to do something different in poetry. I decided that I would try a mix of 'The Geek' and 'The Cool'; thus resulted 'The Trumpets of the Teens'. Written during the vacation after the completion of the Second Year in Under-Graduation (9/5/2003), I consider this the cheekiest of the lot.

The Trumpets of the Teens

Hello everybody, attention please!
I am such an intelligent guy
I can give renowned scientists
A run for their pennies
And I can tell you why.

I present to you, few new facts
And theories that I have proved
Analyze them and you will agree
That I am an intelligent guy.

I can show you a lightning
A lightning with high voltage
A lightning that never hurts
Leaving you yearning for more

Researchers say light possesses dual nature
Here’s something that you should observe
As black as coal tar yet
As bright as the mighty sun

Here I am the scientist of the future
Years ahead of today’s inventors
I can show you my time machine
Making time move faster when I am nearby
But bringing time to a standstill
When I say “Goodbye”

You are right; its my girl
My ultimate time machine
Whose smiles are flases of lightning
With eyes as black as the moonless night
Yet with enough intensity as the sun
To blind you if you look into them for long.

Now that you have a glimpse
Of my superior intellect
I shall continue saying
"I am an intelligent guy
Who can give scientists
A run for their dear money."
